Baby Guster is just over 26 weeks and six days and is about the size of a head of cauliflower.
Here’s what Baby Guster has been up to this week:
- Baby now weighs a full two pounds and measures nine-plus inches.
- And this week, baby’s eyes, which until now were developing under fused eyelids, start to open. Of course, there’s not much to see in there, but if your baby spots a bright light (or hears a loud noise) near your belly, you may notice an increase in fetal activity. (“Hey, I’m in here, Mommy! Where’s the party!”) What accounts for that response? Baby’s brain is more developed and sophisticated.
And here’s what’s been happening with me this past week:
Maternity Clothes: Same as before; maternity bottoms, regular tops and dresses are on full rotation. I like to wear my regular tops so my stomach more shapely. My maternity tops just make me look frumpy right now.
Workouts: Did much better this week. I was able to get in five workouts – and they were full on workouts! Plus a couple of walks with Mr. H. Check out my post on my new fitness approach and how I’m adjusting.
Stretch marks? Nope!
Symptoms: Nothing this week!
Sleep: Sleep was better this week, but not very long. I averaged six hours a night and then grabbed a nap almost every afternoon.
Movement: Holy moly, baby is a jumping bean! Lots of movement going on in there. Some days baby stays quiet and there is little to no movement, but most days around the end of the evening baby starts moving, jumping, rolling and pushing.
Best moment this week: Baby gifts starting to arrive! Not that I am pumped for the gifts, rather the fact that it represents how close we are getting to the shower and then Baby G’s arrival!
Food Cravings: No real cravings. Just enjoying my favorite healthy tuna salad, hummus with veggies and pita, lots of water, passion iced tea and fruit!
Miss Anything? Not having to go to the doctors every four weeks. Haha. I know that sounds silly, but I feel like every time I turn around I am getting ready to head in for another appointment. They don’t take long (I get weighed, they check my stats, measure baby and then listen to baby) but I am just not used to so many visits!
Belly Button in or out? Oh man, it’s in….for now.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy about baby, stressed about life. Ugh.
New Baby Items: Some gifts have been showing up at the door almost every day!
Looking Forward To: A little break with Phil. We have been going non stop for weeks on end and I hope that we can sneak away for a day this weekend or possibly spend the fourth with my family.
