Good morning, friends! I am so excited for today’s post. First, we are officially in the third (and final!) trimester. Wow. How did that happen?
Second, I am celebrating my baby shower today (as you read this post). Yay for celebrating with all of my friends and family.
Third, this week I had my 28 week appointment on Monday and everything went well. Baby G is clocking in right on point (and so is momma) and we are pretty sure baby flipped. At my 20 week appointment baby was breech. So I am over the moon to hear that baby may be heading the right way (pun intended).
Of course, things can always change since we have 12-ish weeks to go, but I am happy to know we are doing well now.
Baby Guster is 28weeks and six days and is about the size of an eggplant.
Here’s what Baby Guster has been up to this week:
- Clocking in at 2 to 2.5 lbs and over 13” in length
- Developing more fat on the body
- Lungs are mature enough to survive outside of momma!
And here’s what’s been happening with me this past week:
Maternity Clothes: I actually started to outgrow my regular shirts and don’t want to completely stretch them out, so I went out shopping for a few new tops. If there is one thing I really do miss, it’s my clothes. I know that sounds weird, but I miss dressing up, choosing clothes that fit my mood vs. finding a tee and shorts to wear because they are comfortable.
I picked up some really cute tanks from A Pea in the Pod and one at Old Navy. They are bright colors and I absolutely LOVE them.
Phil came home on Tuesday and told me that I was in a ridiculously good mood. I said it was because I finally felt like myself- a bright blue tank, white jeans, gold accessories and a wedge nude heal. Ahhh, that’s better.
Not feeling like yourself is one of the strangest feelings and I despite the fact that I don’t want to spend a ton on a whole new maternity wardrobe, I am so glad I added in a few new pieces.
Workouts: Things are slooooowing down. I have a few low impact DVDs that I try and do a few times a week, I go on walks, jump on the elliptical and do my toning. But wow has my energy, stamina and ability to move started to decline.
Stretch marks? No, but the line down my belly is starting to come in a bit.
Symptoms: Nothing really. A little bit of a sore back, but nothing to complain about.
Sleep: Pretty average this week.
Movement: Baby G is rocking out in there! This past weekend my mom and dad were able to feel Baby G. And on Sunday morning we all watched my belly moving up and down and all around. It was so funny!
Best moment this week: Having Phil put his hand on my belly and talk to Baby G. Melts my heart.
Food Cravings: Nothing. No joke. In fact, food in general sounds like a waste of time. I have lost my appetite this week. That is a HUGE change from the rest of the pregnancy when I could eat like a college boy.
Miss Anything? Just my clothes. And sushi. And wine. Ok, that’s it.
Belly Button in or out? I would say flat. I know it is going to pop. And as weird as it sounds, I am freaaaaked out by it!
Happy or moody most of the time: Really happy. I am so excited to meet this little one. We are rolling into the final stretch!!
New Baby Items: Some gifts have been showing up at the door almost every day! And I am sure we will have some more after the shower today.
Looking Forward To: Today, my shower!
Random Thoughts and Musings: The other day I had a vision of myself walking around with my little peanut, burp cloth over my shoulder as I walked around the kitchen grabbing something to eat. I am so, so excited for Baby G to arrive, find out what we are having and start this crazy new adventure!!
Anyone else feel better when they are rocking a good outfit?
