Good morning, friends. It is Friday!
I couldn’t have said it better. Anyone else soooo ready for the weekend?
And who watched Scandal last night?!! I’m also so in love with New Girl and Mindy Project this season. They came out with a bang.
So, I have some very exciting news to share with you. My nephew, Bennett, arrived on Wednesday!! He is healthy, happy, and completely adorable.
The family is doing well and are over the moon. We all are!
When we got the news on Tuesday that my sister in law was being admitted, we knew Bennett was on his way. On Wednesday we got the word that everything was progressing and it was time to push. My sister was able to drive up north (about a four hour drive) and meet Bennett within hours of his arrival.
I have been living off of pictures and Facetime. Thank goodness for FT, it really is awesome to feel so close to someone that is far away.
Baby Guster even got a a special, encouraging message from the cousins:
Congratulations again to the new family!!
A lot of you have been telling me to soak in the quiet time while I can. And let me tell you, this week I finally got the memo. After lots and lots of prepping for Baby G’s arrival, I finally gave in last Saturday. I completely hit a wall. I was done.
I’ve been spending the week resting, sleeping, catching up on my reading and work.
Yesterday I went to the doctor for my weekly visit. Turns out I am already dilated and almost 100% effaced (all good things). (Be sure and get your vote in now for Bows or Bowties!!) The doctor was super happy with my progress as was I. We also did a stress test to make sure the babe is doing ok since the movement has dropped dramatically in the last week. (This is common since the baby is growing and running out of room. However, it could also mean something isn’t right.)
After 30 minutes of listening to babe’s heart beat, I was told all is good and I was allowed to leave. Until next week!!
From there I headed to the salon for a much anticipated and needed color and cut.
During the summer I pop in some highlights. But when the seasons change I like to go back to my darker, more natural color. And my amazing stylist gave me a beautiful cut with long layers. A fresh hair do can make you feel like a new person.
I was running a bit behind, so I grabbed a quick lunch at a local shop and swung into the candy store as well. I had to grab some of these guys…but no, just no.
My last stop was at the salon for a manicure and pedicure. A little treat to myself while I am still a free bird and can do things like this at 2 in the afternoon.
I went with Bubble Bath/Ballet Slippers on my nails (one coat of each) and one of the new Gwen Stefani for OPI colors, I Sing in Color, on my toes. I am obsessed with this color! It is so perfect for fall.
Ok you guys, mark your calendars because this Sunday is Active Nation Day. A day created by the amazing Lorna Jane two years ago and is a movement to inspire women to “be that girl” who lives an authentic and active life through Lorna’s three principles- move, nourish, and believe. This year Active Nation Day takes place on September 28, which is this Sunday!
The day is all about creating a healthy, happy life – something I truly support!
All you have to do is download the app or jump on the website and register. (Her app is awesome because it gives you great tips, workouts, motivation and recipes!) The LJ app even tracks your movement through the day. Doing so gives you access to in-store promotions. And if you have ever worn a piece of LJ active wear, you know this is a great deal!
Check in through Instagram with the hashtags #LJMove and #ActiveNationDay on Sunday, September 28th! Bonus points for performing the #LJMove
So that’s all folks! I hope you have a great Friday!
