Morning, friends! Happy Monday.
We had a really great weekend over here and hope you did as well. Unfortunately, both of our plans with friends and family were canceled due to illness. So, we spent the weekend as a family and had the best time just being together.
Well, most of our weekend was together, though Saturday started on a solo note for me. I kicked off the weekend with a workout and then headed to the salon for a much-needed haircut.
Inspired by the warmer weather and our upcoming vacation, I went a little lighter.
After, I snagged a quick lunch at Commonwealth (a favorite spot in Birmingham). Their soup for the day was lentil with kale, which I immediately order and loved every bite. A quiet few hours are rare but refreshing, indeed!
Exhausted from shopping, we grabbed takeout and called it a day.
Phil and I seem to have a little agreement- one day he gets up with Mitch and another day I do. Sunday Phil snuck out of bed with Mitch and I rolled over for an extra hour of sleep. When I woke at 7 am I was so refreshed. I’m not sure about you, but I’m ready for daylight saving!
The stickers and suckers were the clear favorites!
Mitch took an early nap, so I stayed in go-mode and got a jump start on packing.
Once Mitch was up, we put some ripe bananas to good use! Mitch is really into helping and baking has been his favorite task. We tackled the prep together and Mitch even manned the mixer as well as scooping and counting out the ingredients.
Our weekend ended with a delicious dinner and prep for the week ahead. And if you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat (balancingb) you saw our dance party. Dancing has become a daily occurrence in our house and I love the fun and laughter that always ensues.
What’s one highlight from your weekend? Favorite flower? Favorite extra to treat yourself to at the store?
