Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. My weekend was a mix of projects, work and relaxing with my favorites. In other words, a great weekend! And it ended with nine glorious hours of sleep…I’m a new woman today!
Thursday night my brother and his family were in town. My sister hosted dinner (she is an amazing cook so it is always a treat to head to her house) and true to form, she served grilled chicken with a simple side salad and the best – a peach bruschetta that was life changing on fresh grilled sourdough.
Per usual, the cousins ran around playing and catching fireflies until dark. It was so fun to have another day together so soon after vacation.
We rolled into the weekend with a short work day Friday for a blog meeting in the afternoon. I will be sharing more next week (hint: there is a giveaway coming!).
On Saturday I headed to the gym a bit later than usual, meaning I missed my usual 8am spin. I checked the calendar and found a 9am at my local club and decided to return to an instructor I haven’t taken in ages. The class ended up being more SoulCylce/ Cycle Sculpt style with thumping beats and club-like lighting. We spent the class jumping up, down, in and out of our seat with push ups to boot. I did what I could (hello belly) but was more than happy when the hour hit.
The afternoon was consumed with playtime with Mitch, errands and groceries as Phil worked away on our master closet and bathroom.
Dinner came together in a pinch thanks to grilled pizza that hit the spot. I stayed up way too late to watch a few episodes of Playing House and then digging back into my book before calling it a night.
Sunday started on a slow note thanks to my late night (pregnancy sleep issues are also starting to set in). I grabbed a cup of coffee and then headed back to my room for an arm workout while the guys dug into cinnamon rolls. The day called for rain, so after my toning, I headed out for a walk with Mitch and Henry. We came home and dug into brunch!
The weather app moved the chance of rain to the afternoon, so we quickly grabbed our suits and headed to the pool. Mitch is so in love with the water and I was itching for some time to relax as a family. The pool delivered! Mitch spent the entire time swimming, jumping, and playing in all parts of the pool. I love his confidence with the water, but it keeps us on our toes!
Our late brunch held us over, but I knew all of the activity was wearing on Mitch. Despite his protests, we headed home for nap, lunch and a bit of blog work.
The rest of the day was spent making steaks for dinner on the grill, more playtime outside and a 9pm bedtime for this girl.
It was a wonderful weekend all around!
