I feel like I am in a weird limbo; the cold that I am still fighting has thrown me off of my workouts and has impacted my appetite. Two weekends ago I had the flu that rolled into this nasty cold, so my energy has been very low. Without my daily workout and a head that was filled with pressure, I have seen a big change in my food.
Luckily this is not a What I Ate Monday or Tuesday post because that would have been one boring post.
Yesterday I woke up with an appetite, something that has not happened in over a week. I took this as a good sign that the bug is finally passing (fingers crossed) and snacked on some grapes knowing breakfast was waiting for me at work.
There was an event with my work which included breakfast. I grabbed a plate and added eggs, fruit and yogurt. Life has been filled with BRAT foods, so I was ready to enjoy a little variety!
My eyes were bigger than my stomach, but it was nice to have fresh options all the same! How often do breakfast displays only include pastries – blah.
Believe it or not, I am not even interested in coffee. Phil made a pot at home in the morning and I called it quits a quarter way through the cup. #youknowIamsickwhen
Trader Joes has a new mango salad mix that includes arugula, dried mango and coconut and spicy mango dressing. I picked up a bag and had it with chicken.
Dinner was a quick fish and roasted asparagus meal that was basic and just what I needed.
It felt good to get back to it with some normal meals filled with fresh food. I was amazed at how little I wanted to eat after a week of being sick and not working out. Just goes to show you what happens when you rev your metabolism!
What’s your favorite feel better food? Do you eat more or less when you workout?
