Hi friends and happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a great week and are looking forward to a fun weekend. We had a busy week, so I’m ready for a couple of days with an alarm! Our weekend is packed with birthday parties, swim class and hopefully a fun adventure. But overall I’m looking forward to enjoying the warmer weather. My tulips are blooming and I’m loving the pops of color in our yard.
As we wrap up the week, I wanted to share a few of my favorite things. Oh, and if you tried the Starbucks unicorn drink leave your review below! Have a great one!
Mitch attends a daycare that is structured like a school; they have a curriculum, a schedule and weekly themes to explore different topics, holidays, etc. I am always blown away by the activities and art projects he comes home with every week. He absolutely loves playing with paints, crayons, stickers and fun objects, too like sponges, or fruit and veggies. We display his masterpieces in our house, but I’ve also started to bring a few to work with me. How can you not smile when you see your munchkin’s fingerprints as raindrops? Ugh!
I’ve shared my love for TIU and the Bikini Series several times on the blog and wanted to spread the word that my favorite time of year is here – Bikini Series! To clarify, the eight-week program is not about losing weight or fitting into a bikini. Rather, it is a time to focus on your health: mental, physical, spiritual, emotional. Katrina and Karena have created an eight-week workout and eating program that are all about feeling your best. While I love trying new recipes, eating clean and moving my body, my favorite aspect of Tone It Up is the community. K & K have created this rare community built on celebrating women at all ages, stages and points of their life. I went through the BS when I was pregnant with Mitch because I love how positive the vibe is and knew I was eating my best for him. I never followed the program to a T during that time because I was listening to my body’s needs. But if you’re looking for some motivation, positivity or are feeling a little blah about workouts, eating or disconnected – check it out!
One of my good friends shared her love for these simple statement earrings and I instantly wanted a pair of my own. I tend to keep my jewelry simple, so a great pair of stud earrings are a perfect addition to my collection. While the earrings are ‘diamonds’, they’re not too sparkly or in-your-face. However, they’re perfect to wear with a casual tee and jeans look to pull everything together.
Mitch’s First Character Meeting
When you have a child, I think most parents think ahead to their first family trip to Disney. While we plan on waiting a few more years, I couldn’t help but take him to meet his favorite character, Peppa Pig, at a local restaurant. Each week for two months the restaurant will bring in a different cartoon or Disney character for a meet and greet during dinner. We headed over and grabbed a table and patiently waited for Peppa to make her rounds. When she came within 20 feet of our table, Mitch started screaming and crying. Fortunately, Peppa took the hint and kept moving along. Mitch calmed down and then instantly started asking for Peppa (kids!). On her second lap, Mitch warmed up and worked his way to a high-five. And on the third visit, we took a picture, with mom as the safety buffer despite his extreme excitement. Every time Peppa walked away, Mitch would start yelling for her to come back. As you can imagine with a restaurant filled with kids, it was one noisy dinner!
Sephora VIB Sale
It is the second most wonderful time of the year! Ha. I have been really into finding great products, specifically with my skincare and some make-up items as well. The VIB sale is a bi-yearly sale where you can score 15-20% off of your purchase – a rarity on high end products. I like to grab staple items and also a few fun new products to try. In my basket I have a new face cream, my favorite mascara, and new eye pallet.
Real Housewives Reunions
Please tell me there are other RHW fans out there. I’m absolutely in heaven right now with Atlanta and Beverly Hills doing reunions – they are better than ever. Erika is one of my all-time favorite housewives and I am so into the panty-gate and the drama with PK. What is with him? Why does he want to be in on the drama and almost working his way to be on the show. Ew. Kyle avoided a lot of the drama this year, but Kim was back and the bunny situation with Lisa R. was next level.
