Good morning and happy Halloween!!
I’m in a bit of a daze as the last two days have been filled with parties, play dates and sleepless nights. A recipe for crazy town, which is a great description of our weekend.
Hell Week Workout
On Saturday morning, I woke up at 6:30 to head to Orange Theory Fitness for a workout. I hadn’t been all week, but had heard rumors of the Halloween-themed daily workouts and knew I was in for it.
Saturday’s workout was themed around the Blair Witch movie so we did sprints (running for our lives), and burpees (hiding) for one hour. It was a challenge, to say the least. One attendee asked if the clock was broken when he realized we were only half-way. Ha!
I quickly headed home, ate breakfast and packed everyone in the car for our first party of the weekend.
Mitchell’s school is one of many, so they all coordinated and threw a Halloween Bash at one of the locations. Each classroom had different activities that were age friendly and Halloween themed.
Mitch played a few games including ring toss and bowling.
Mitch was a little leery of the face painting but did snag a tattoo. And he did just fine eating a few pieces of candy.
Saturday was also the big game between my alma matter and their biggest rival. The Michigan vs. Michigan State game is well known as the highlight game of the season and one that I’ve attended for eight of the last ten years. But with the busy weekend, we couldn’t make it up to the game.
We made it home from the party half-way through the first quarter and watched from home. Mitch started cheering, “Yay football!”
One of my dear friends Lindsay has two sweet boys, her oldest Jack was born the day before Halloween. Funny story, three years ago we were at my girlfriend Katie’s house for girls night and Lindsay was very pregnant. Katie made spicy chili because we were trying different tactics to send her into labor. Well, it worked! Jack was born a few hours later!
Sunday afternoon we went over to celebrate the birthday boy. The party was right at nap time so we weren’t sure what to expect, but once Mitch walked in and spotted the bounce house he was good to go!
The party was filled with friends, food and little ones. It was so much fun to see our group of friends and our kids all playing together.
The weekend was a packed with friends, sugar and Halloween-themed activities! Today we have Mitch’s class party and then we’re heading out to Trick or Treat!
How was your weekend? Did you dress up?
