Two weeks. Two weeks since I touched the computer. I know there were crickets around here, but with a newborn, three year old and three Christmases in two weeks my time was spent celebrating with my family. What an amazing end of the year.
We spent the days in our pjs playing with new gifts, reading Christmas stories and watching classic movies. Honestly, it was all perfect. Despite being a few weeks postpartum, we hosted three Christmases in our house, which was challenging but also a huge joy. Mitchell was completely into the entire holiday. We baked cookies for Santa, sprinkled reindeer food outside our house and then dealt with a three year old who was convinced he could stay awake until Santa arrived. Everything was magical.
Christmas is such a special time but it felt fresh again this year with Mitchell and Amelia. Although, Amelia slept through the entire day on Christmas. She was such a sleepy bug that we managed Santa gifts on Christmas and continued her presents the next day when she was more awake. We loved it, why not extend the joy?!
New Years weekend was spent celebrating my nephew’s second birthday, meeting my new nephew (who was born days after Amelia) and then my extended family’s Christmas. We rang in the new year (yes, I actually stayed awake!) excited to all be together, happy and healthy. I know it was quiet here, but it felt so good to step away, disconnect and focus on the magic that was happening everyday inside our home.
I am planning out my goals for the year personally and here on the blog and let me say, it is going to be a great year! Sharing and connecting with you guys is so special and awesome – and I want to keep that going. You’ll see a few changes around here, but I’ll get into that more in the next post.
Until then, I hope you are all well, had a magical holiday season and wonderful New Year.
Tell me, did you have a favorite memory from the holidays? Do you make resolutions? What are you excited for in 2018?
