Baby Guster is 31 weeks and six days and is about the size of a pineapple. On Tuesday Phil came home and asked how I was doing? I replied, “Good, I am carrying a pineapple!” Haha.
Here’s what Baby Guster has been up to this week:
- Measuring over 16 inches long and weighs about 3 1/3 pounds roughly. All five senses are in working order too!
- Baby is know having longer periods of sleep mixed with periods of movement.
And here’s what’s been happening with me this past week:
Maternity Clothes: Nothing new.
Workouts: I am going three weeks strong of getting back into my workouts. I aim for four to five 30-45 minute workouts a week. This week I made it to (and through!) spin class. It has been weeeeeks since I hit up my favorite class. I guess it was fear since my breathing is a lot more strained and shallow since I became pregnant. But I told myself that I am not going for a calorie burn, but rather for fun! I changed my mindset, went and loved the endorphin high!
And of course, some walks with Mr. H and a bike ride! I love taking bike rides. It semi freaks Phil out (I’m not sure if he thinks I am going to get hit or lose my balance and fall off). But I do just fine and it is one of my favorite summer activities.
Stretch marks? I actually looked down expecting to see some this week, but still non. I am not sure how because this belly and body is growing and changing.
Symptoms: A couple of light back aches that really pop up based on what I am doing. I feel my back get sore if I am sitting for a long time. No big thing, though.
I also had a few lower abdominal cramps. They felt like menstrual cramps, but I will tell you, when I hear stories of women going into labor at 30 weeks and then you get some unexpected feelings, it is enough to put a little scare in anyone.
Sleep: I’m still clocking in seven hours of uninterrupted sleep. I’m also trying to cut back on the naps as my sleep at night is never as good on the days I do.
Movement: You guys, I am actually concerned that this baby is going to do some internal damage to me. It is kicking SO hard. The worst is when I go to bed and roll to my side, the baby moves to the side closest to the mattress and takes a few good jabs at my side. I wince in pain. Poor Phil sits there not sure what to do. I love this kid, but dayyymmmmnn.
Best Moment this Week: Feeling like myself again. I was really out of it (tired, cranky and just off) for about two weeks. Finally this week I have some energy back, more of an appetite and am in a much better mood.
Food Cravings: A few cravings for pickles, chips, fruit and fro-yo.
Miss Anything? Shopping. I miss clothes. I don’t want to buy any maternity clothes since I am in the final weeks and have plenty to get me by.
Belly Button In or Out? In unless the kid is sitting low and then it pushes out. Ha.
Happy or Moody Most of the Time: Happy
New Baby Items: We are going shopping today to fill in the few items we still need for Baby G. We are actually trying to keep our purchases to a minimum because one, it is a baby and doesn’t need all of the bells and whistles (personal opinion), and two) I know we will be shopping once we know the gender.
We did purchase the rest of our cloth diaper starter system last Sunday. We have a few brands and styles so we can see what works best for Baby G. I am nervous and excited to see how this goes!
Looking Forward To: Pictures from our pregnancy photo shoot last weekend and shopping today!
Random Thoughts and Musings: Thank you for the thoughts on last weeks update. I definitely had a freak out moment but feel much better now that it is out of my system. Sometimes we get so caught up in thinking 50 feet ahead, we forget what we are doing and forget to trust ourselves! Someone told me this week that we don’t give ourselves and natural instincts enough credit. So often we head to the internet and search for answers, and sometimes we need to! But sometimes we need to relax, listen to our instincts and trust ourselves.
Do you find that you default to Google for answers or do you trust yourself?
Any other cloth diaper mommas out there?
