Baby Guster is 34 weeks and six days and the size of a butternut squash.
Here’s what Baby Guster has been up to this week:
- Baby is recognizing and reacting to simple songs, if you’re singing them.
- Baby can weigh up to 5 pounds and almost 20 inches. And I believe it!
Days until due date: 38 (umm what!)
Number of OB appointments left: 5 (one per week)
Nesting or resting? Nesting. Now that the closet is in, I am filling it, organizing drawers and finally putting everything into its place.
Ravenous or Nauseous? Last week I was a sleepy and hungry monster, this week has pulled back quite a bit. It makes me wonder what all is going on inside with baby. Last week must have been a growth spurt!
Shopping or saving? Overall saving. Since we don’t know what we are having, I have been really holding back on purchases. However, this weekend I did pick up some more burp cloths and a winter jacket that is neutral.
Calm or cranky? A lot more calm this week.
Baby names: We have narrowed our top picks down to three boy names and three girl names. The middle names are pretty set for both. So we are leaving the final decision to the day of and hope we both like the same one!
Workouts: Same as last week – slowing down for sure. Still moving, but the days I workout I find myself crashing for a nap before dinner. The days I don’t workout I can make it through the day. So it is a bit of a catch-22.
Stretch marks? Nope and no real line either.
Symptoms: Starting to feel some cramping, pulls and pains in the southern region. I looked at Phil on Monday night and said, “Oh my gosh, what if I go into labor?!” I will honestly say I was kind of excited.
Sleep: One restless night, but otherwise a well rested momma-to-be.
Random Thoughts and Musings: In just over a month I could be holding our sweet little baby in my arms for the first time. I am so, so excited.
The baby is definitely growing and feels heavy on my insides lately! I also can’t get over how big its body parts feel under my skin – especially its backside. I can feel its little rump backing up into my upper belly almost every day. And it is certainly growing, movements can stretch from the top of my belly down to the bottom or over to the side. This kiddo is starting to fill out my belly, which also makes it harder.
This week we also felt the baby have hiccups for the first time. It was beyond cute and kind of tickled me.
On Monday I went to the OB and everything is still looking great. I did start to feel some movement/pain/cramping in my lower half and the doctor said that is very normal seeing that we are moving to the end point.
Ok that’s a wrap for this week. Have a great weekend everyone! I’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors enjoying this glorious, non-humid summer weather.
