I can hardly believe I am at 20 weeks, half way! So much fun happened this week that I thought I would start documenting my pregnancy and Baby G’s growth through a weekly update.
How far along? 20 weeks 6 days
Maternity clothes? Most of my bottoms are maternity. I still wear some baggy tees that fit just fine and a few dresses are working for the time being. But the bump is definitely starting to grow.
Stretch marks?: No, still lathering up with my oil and lotions.
Sleep: This week I slept like a baby. Some weeks I am super uncomfortable at night, but this week I could barely keep my eyes open past 9pm. Only problem is that I now wake up between 5:30-5:45am.
Best moment this week: Being spoiled on Mother’s Day by my boys and Squirt. And then the ultra sound appointment on Monday. It was quite an exciting week!
Miss anything?: Umm, yes – alcohol. What is with me? I am not a big drinker but ever since I found out I am pregnant, all I want is a drink. Someone told me this is a sign of a wild child. Knowing its parents, I am sure they are right. Oh lord.
Movement: I think so. I know that sounds odd, but the Dr said that is very a normal response from first time moms and most likely it was the baby. Phil and I both felt some movement on Mother’s Day, it was pretty distinct. We aren’t sure if it was the baby or a muscle moving. I’ve also been feeling lots of dips and odd flutters.
Food cravings: No, nothing that I HAVE to have. I have been loving fruit and pretzels with mustard this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope – but I can only have a few sips of coffee, then it tastes disgusting.
Gender: No clue. I often wonder if I am going to get a strong feeling one way or the other. When we were doing the ultra sound on Monday, I kept saying, “It’s a boy. No, it’s a girl. No, a boy. No, girl.” haha
Symptoms: Now that I am over my almost two-week cold of death, I am feeling much better. I spent all of last Saturday sleeping only waking up when Squirt told me it was time to get some food. All of the rest, extra fluids and a little special treatment on Mother’s Day has left me feeling really rested and like a new woman.
Belly button in or out? In! I have this really weird feeling it is going to pop out. I have no clue why, I just do.
Wedding rings on or off? On and oddly loose. Is that strange?
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! Seeing our baby was such an amazing experience. I woke up on cloud 9 Tuesday so I could chat with Squirt. Seeing Squirt made everything so real.
Looking forward to: Everything!! I am so excited to meet this little one, start working on the nursery, watching my belly grow, my baby shower…I’m in baby heaven.
Purchases: We ordered a few items for the nursery including the crib, a rocking chair and changing table.
Thoughts/Feelings/Random Musings: It certainly was a busy week on the baby front! Seeing Baby G was unbelievable, and receiving a bill of good health for both of us was a huge relief. I have not been super paranoid through the pregnancy, but I was very anxious for the appointment and to hear that everything was going as it should. I think it is only natural for a mom to try her very best to create the best home she can while pregnant and I am so glad that Baby G is comfy in its temporary home.
