Good morning, friends. It has been a fun week over here and I thought I would pop in with some highlights from the week!
Over the weekend, we had a few fun outings (including the trip to the zoo), more Orange Theory Fitness and including a neighborhood ice cream social. We always try to attend the community events, but they typically fall on weekends we are traveling. Sunday we were around and decided to jump at the chance to visit with friends and meet new ones.
Henry even joined in on the fun!
We met a ton of new neighbors and kiddos. It was such a fun night, right in our backyard.
After the zoo, I was ready for some lunch and knew just where to go. Royal Oak area has a lot of great vegetarian and vegan restaurants that can be a harder sell to Phil. Since I was on my own and had my vegetarian buddy with me, we decided to try out Cacao Tree Cafe,
The cafe serves vegan dishes, smoothies, juices and shots, salads, soups and wraps with ingredients that are locally sourced and organic. I was definitely ready to dig in but didn’t know where to start. The Farm salad sounded delicious and was served with a maple balsamic dressing that was the perfectly sweet addition to the garlic walnuts.
I can’t wait to return and try out some other fun, interesting takes on classics like a burrito made with nut paste for the “meat” and their vegan treats that were calling my name.
Pure Barre in the Park
As you know, my girlfriend and I are on a new workout kick! We have tried Orange Theory, I went to CycleBar and we also attended Pure Barre’s class in the park to celebrate their new store opening in Plymouth.
The event took place in the center of town at the park. The Pure Barre team did a great job coordinating the event making check-in smooth. We all rolled out our mats around the park and got ready for what turned out to be an intense workout! The location’s instructors took to the stage to lead while the two owners provided the direction on the microphone making it easy to follow along – the moves on the other hand buuuuurned. Oooh.
It was a really fun hour and a gorgeous night to be outside. I loved the way PB announced their arrival to Plymouth and it didn’t hurt to end the night on a sweet note with beautiful “Lift. Tone. Burn” cookies.
On Wednesday, I attended a Detroit Tigers baseball game with my work for our summer outing. I was concerned about the afternoon start time at the end of August (no one wants to be sweaty in front of their coworkers), but the temperature was perfect in the high seventies with a slight breeze.
It was a great day at the office!
The week has been extra busy and fun, for sure!
What are you guys up to? Any fun end of the summer plans?
