Although I am a blogger, I am a huge fan of YouTube videos. I have learned so much over the years of watching tutorials – who hasn’t turned to YouTube at one time or another for an answer or how-to video?
One topic that I love to watch is beauty, maybe because I’ve always had a love for make-up but never perfected many skills. I’ve learned quite a bit, but more so, learned about a lot of great products, techniques and tips. A video I always love watching is Recent Empties. They are videos reviewing a bag of empty products (usually over the last six months) and the person’s thoughts and of course rating of buy (again) or bye.
So today, I am sharing my bag of recent empties, my thoughts and if the product is a buy or bye. Let’s jump in!
Batiste was the first dry shampoo I tried and have been repurchasing as my favorite affordable option. One thing I love is the dark hair option as brunettes know the struggle is real with the white cast other brands can leave. One thing I don’t love is the end feeling is a bit thicker than others- but it gets the job done. And if you’re looking for volume, this is your go-to. Buy
My life changed when I added a few tools and products – the beauty blender being one. It’s my favorite way to apply makeup it looks even and natural. I repurchased a new blender as they are super durable but should be changed all the same. If you don’t have one, go grab one! Buy
After a lot of hype, I gave this mascara a try and instantly fell in love. The wand is fairly basic, but the result is a long lash that has a “this is natural but glam” look. I used this mascara every day until it ran out. It’s not going to make your lashes full, but adds a lot of length and drama. Buy
Benefit had my heart: they have some amazing products. But for me, this wasn’t one of them. The product is a concealer, but the consistency is thick and cakey leaving a clumpy result- the last thing you want if you have a blemish. Bye
Speaking of products that changed my skin, this is one. I use my Clarisonic once a day with the luxury brush head, which leaves my skin soft and smooth. I change the head every three months to keep the results the best. Buy
For me, price does not equal quality or the best results. But this creme is worth every penny. The name ‘good genes’ is no joke – it delivers perfectly smooth, fresh skin. My only drawback is the price, but totally worth it. Buy
Like I said above, dry shampoos are tricky. The Moroccan Oil version is incredibly light, so it works in my air because it never gets too greasy. The product will leave your hair feeling incredibly refreshed and has a great scent, but it falls flat on the volume side and doesn’t have as much staying power as others. Bye
If you have a Beauty Blender, you need to clean it on the regular. For daily use, I go with the liquid soap. But for travel I love the bar option. Simply swirl the Blender on the wet soap and then use your fingers to massage the soap in. Within seconds your Blender is good as new! Buy
Covergirl Lashblast Mascara
Lashblast is my everyday mascara. It delivers the perfect combination of length and fullness while looking completely natural. I grab a tube in black-brown so the color is softer. This mascara is always in my makeup drawer for it’s wear, value and staying power! Buy
Caudalie has some great products that I use regularly, but this moisturizer did not perform. It was okay, I guess. But I have some great products that deliver results for a lot less. Bye
