It’s the beginning of November which means a lot of things. Hallmark Christmas movies are on, it is my birthday month, Thanksgiving and the Sephora VIB Sale starts- just to name a few! 😉
Sephora VIB Sale always has a lot of buzz, but also a little bit of confusion on when you can shop it if you are VIB Rouge or VIB. When I realized it was the ‘most wonderful time of the year,’ I reached out on snapchat and asked if you’d be interested in a roundup of my favorites and what I am going to buy. With a huge yes response, I spent time pulling together details around the sale and a list of favorites.
First, let’s clear a few things up.
There are two levels of VIB: VIB Rouge and VIB. However, this year 3 levels can shop. If you are a regular Beauty Insider you get to shop as well, which is incredibly rare but amazing because anyone can sign-up and thus save. I am guilty to being part of the VIB Rouge gang (AKA I buy unnecessary amounts of Bite lip liners and skin care).
- November 3-6th is for VIB Rouge. You use your code 20FORROUGE.
- November 10-15th is for VIB and your code will be 20FORVIB.
These both get you 20% off your order!November 10-15th is for Beauty Insider as well. Use your code INSIDER15 for 15% off
Now what makes the Sephora sale different? When luxury department stores have sales, a lot of times specific beauty brands are off limits. Another issue with beauty sales is they usually only allow you to use the code once. Sephora allows you to shop as frequently as your heart desires during the sale dates with your coupon code.
Since shopping my first sale last year, I picked up a few tips:
- Make a list. Add the products you use year-round and also those you’ve been eying.
- Think of gifts! This is the perfect time to grab all of the cute box sets at a discount.
- Fill your basket. You can add items to your basket and prep ahead of time.
- You can shop more than once. I love this because often I think of something I should have grabbed (how did I miss my favorite perfume?) or toss in one more product I’ve been debating for months.
OK, time to talk favorites.
This was fairly difficult but I narrowed it down to 15 things that I talk about all the time and REALLY love and recommend, then my wishlist!
As usual, I’d love to hear what you are loving below and what you want to grab at the sale. What things do you have your eye on? What holiday gift sets are you loving? Tell me, tell me!
My Top 15 Picks:
Clinique Moisture Surge. Moisturizer is personal, but I have to share one that’s been a favorite for years. If you are in need of a great day or nighttime option that is light, helps balance your skin and leaves a fresh finish (perfect to leave the house sans makeup), this is it.
Murad Face Wash. The best. I love this face wash because it is gentle but super effective. I love to use this with my Clarisonic in the morning.
Drunk Elephant LaLa Retro Cream. If you follow my beauty favorites regularly then you know that this is the cream I’ve been using daily. It works for me both night and day and it’s perfect. For the last year or two I also loved and used the Sunday Riley Tidal Cream, it’s just a bit lighter and my skin is a desert. I really like how both work under makeup for me.
Anastasia Brow Definer. This is my go-to brow product and I always stock up at the VIB sale. One lasts me a few months, so I tend to buy a few. Tip: always grab a lighter shade for your brows. People tend to grab one the ‘color’ of their hair, which can look harsh. Love it!
The Beauty Blender. I have raved about the BB for quite some time and cannot recommend this enough. Grab one, use it and email me how your life has changed. No other sponge works the same and I’ve tried a TON.
Anastasia Sugar Glow Kit. Ok, if you are not on the highlight train, here is your ticket. This quad offers a variety of simple, easy to wear colors that glide on like a dream. You can play around with different shades for a casual look or add more for the evening. And don’t just think cheek bones, add a pop to the arch of your eyebrow for a serious lift and corner of your eye to make them look awake.
Clinique BB Cream. If you buy one thing this sale (or take one thing away from this post) let it be this (with a beauty blender, of course). My makeup game changed when I found this BB cream. One of my favorite YouTubers turned me onto this lightweight cream that is easy to apply and leaves a super natural finish. The best part, you can’t mess it up. With a beauty blender, the finish is flawless but not cakey.
Mascara. My answer is a bit sneaky. There are so many I love, so let me share a few. Tarte is a great all-in-one option (length, volume and payoff), Benefit They’re Real is my ride-or die and gives the appearance of false lashes, Dior Show is seriously stunning and makes your lashes look natural, but better.
L’Occitane Almond Oil. This is the one product I purchase EACH and every VIB Sale. I’m a L’Occitane fan and am even more so since becoming pregnant. I mix 2 drops of this Supple Skin Oil into whatever moisturizer I’m using after the shower. You can use this alone and I do when my skin is very dry, but that’s my trick for making this last. I go through about 4 bottles a year and buy one or two each VIB sale. The hand creams are another must for me. I keep one everywhere (purse, makeup drawer, nightstand, car).
BITE Lip Liners and Lip Crayons. I know, a lip liner sounds a bit much, right? But I am telling you, this is a game changer. With a few quick swipes, your lips are more defined and add a natural pop. (And is part of my 5-Minute makeup musts!)
Buxom Lip Gloss. Buxom makes amazing lip gloss that adds a pop of color and sheen to your lip. They’re easy to wear and are the perfect item to toss in your bag and go. No muss, no fuss. Dani is my current favorite, but I am linking a mini holiday set because it is a steal and who doesn’t love anything mini?
Boscia Makeup Breakup Remover. My skin is normal, so I was a bit hesitant to try an oil. But, don’t be fooled, the product is an oil consistency, but is magic in a bottle. You simply pump out a bit into your hands and gently rub onto your face. Your makeup comes off with no tugging or pulling of any sort. Splash with water and you have a clean face. Amazing!
Sephora Face Masks. The perfect treat. The masks are good, effective and at an amazing price point. I grabbed a few for fun a few years ago and am hooked. They give you a great treatment in the privacy of your own home, just add a glass of wine and chick-flick for a perfect night.
So what new things are on my wish list? Here’s a peek!< a href=”http://shopstyle.it/l/mnz4″>Bare Minerals Hidden Treasure Palette. I saw this palette last weekend in store and I stood over it a good 5 minutes. I’m not in the market for a new eyeshadow palette, but the temptation was so strong. I really love the pigmentation of bareMINERALS eyeshadows and these colors are such rich neutrals.
Perfume!! This is the one thing I always try to grab at the sale because when does perfume ever go on sale?! IT NEVER DOES. It’s always excluded in the fine print. I am eying one by Joe Malone.
Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream. I’ve heard amazing reviews of this moisturizer. And if there is one thing I can get behind, it is hydrated skin.
Too Faced Boss Lady Agenda and Make-up Palette. Do I needs this? I think so. The sweet holiday set includes a planner (that is actually really good) and palettes that are filled with Too Faced products from eyeshadows to blush to lips. Everything all in one cute package.
So let me know! What is on your list?!
