Hi friends! I hope you are all rested and well fed coming off the long holiday weekend. I took most of the week off the blog to completely immerse myself in my family. Amelia celebrated her one week birthday Sunday, I celebrated my birthday Tuesday and we had Thanksgiving Thursday. It was a busy week of celebrations and adjusting to being a family of four.
Before we go too far, I want to thank everyone for the congrats and well wishes on welcoming Amelia into our family. We’ve been a family of four for two weeks and while we’ve experienced some bumps, overall we’re doing WAY better than I anticipated. Mainly Ms. Amelia. She’s a dream and I cannot get enough.
The last two weeks have been filled with friends and family. We’ve been blessed with visitors coming to meet Amelia. I love watching our dear friends meet her – two parts of our lives coming together. They come bearing gifts and food, the best gift of all.
I’m short, Amelia has been home for almost two weeks and it’s been amazing. She’s a snuggler and sleeper – praise the heavens. None of my boys snuggle and Mitchell defied odds as a newborn and wasn’t into the sleep thing. I’m on cloud nine.
Weeks ahead of my birthday, Phil asked me how would like to spend my day. Assuming the little one was going to arrive around the due date, I knew two weeks later I wouldn’t be up for much. Sleep was at the top of my wish list! We ended up having a wonderful day filled with small touches and treats.
Mitchell and Phil made me breakfast in bed which we enjoyed picnic style. I was then treated to my favorite coffee when Phil returned from errands. The afternoon was filled with naps and a trip to my favorite specialty food shop for sushi.
The night wrapped with steak dinner and apple pie, and a handmade card from all three of my kids.
Thanksgiving was low key; we hung out as a family in the morning enjoying turkey pancakes and stayed in our pajamas.
My sister hosted us for Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived at her house and dug into appetizers while the kids ran around.
Dinner was absolutely delicious and the table was made special with some handmade place settings.
The rest the weekend with learn how to move as a family of four. And I was also treated to my first solo outing.
Coming back from the long weekend has me both sad to say goodbye to the extra time with Phil, Mitchell and Amelia. But I’m so looking forward to spending time with this love bug, plus the usual holiday festivities are about to start!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! Is anyone shopping Cyber Monday deals today?
