Ah, how is it October!? Where in the world did September go? I feel as though the fall is flying by, and this girl is not ready for the winter to set in just yet. Maybe because I adore fall. It is by far my favorite season and eagerly anticipate its return every year. The smells, the football and tailgating, cider mills, layers of clothes – so cozy.
I have so much to share with you guys! So, here are a few things I’m loving from food, fashion, fitness and fun from the month of September!
Healthy Pumpkin Spice Lattes
I know everyone gets all hot and bothered (haha, get it) around this time of year when the ‘Bucks announces the return of the fall drinks. But this at home version is so good, is good for you, has clean ingredients…oh, and actually has pumpkin. This has been on steady rotation in la casa.
Batiste Colored Dry Shampoo – As someone who has dark hair, the whole white formula of dry shampoo is not so great. No one wants to walk around with a white patch and have no clue. But dry shampoo is a god-send! Seriously. So, when I found Batiste that comes in colors to match your hair I was a goner. It works well, doesn’t have a weird smell (like some do) and I can practically apply it with my eyes closed.
Gwen Stefani Nail Polish for OPI – During my last trip to the spa I spotted the latest collection from OPI and instantly fell in love. The colors are perfect for fall and I have been loving I Sing in Color (second from the left).
Frisky Fall Challenge – I don’t know about you, but I can get a bit blah on workouts if I don’t have a why. You know, a reason, motivation, schedule or goal. Something that I am working towards or have committed to. One reason why you hear me sing the praises of Tone It Up is their weekly workouts. Every Sunday the TIU girls push out the new workout schedule for the week. Awesome. Totally takes the guess work out.
They also do ‘challenges’, which are simply 8 weeks of workouts that are motivating and usually focused around achieving 100 miles by a certain date. This month kicked off Frisky Fall. The goal is to get in 100 miles by Halloween. I love this because it really motivates you to get off your bum and move.
Granted, reaching the 100 miles was a bit more challenging when you are walking vs running, biking or spinning, which tally up way more mileage. But it makes me aware of how much I am (or am not) moving.
Baby Bennett - Obviously this guy is the tippy top of my list. Oh my, this auntie is over the moon.
Fall TV – Is is just me or is everyone SUPER excited for the return of tv this year? It is all people are talking about. But do you know what I love? There are some legit shows on, not just reality (not that I am knocking it, RHW lover forever and ever). My go-tos include The Mindy Project, New Girl, Scandal, The Voice, Modern Family, Big Bang Theory and The Voice. Does anyone else LOVE Gwen and Pharell as much as I do?! Awesome additions.
Fall Candles – I am not big into candles outside of the fall. As soon as I got my 20% coupon and a 2 for $22 email came in from Bath and Body Works, I was off. This year I snagged Leaves and Pumpkin Caramel Latte. I burn them for 30 minutes max and they leave the house smelling like fall for hours. I can’t get enough.
College Football- I ask you, what is better than college football and tailgates in the fall? Ummm, nothing. Seriously. Granted I went to a school that is big time into tailgating. In fact, that was half of my Saturday followed by the game, a nap and then a night out on the town. Ah the good old days. This season has been all about watching the games with my feet up on the couch.
