Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of comparison. But not what you may think. I’ve been comparing where I am in my life, in this journey to where I was a year ago, five years ago, ten years ago.
So often we compare ourselves to others: their things, their looks, their accomplishments. But that’s them, not you. And good for them! I am focused on celebrating and encouraging others.
The second I started looking at myself as my comparison, I found a lot of joy and pride in what I’ve done and what I have.
And what I have is a lot. And you know what, I’ve always had a lot. We all do. It’s a matter of perspective. I’m focusing on putting my energy into me and my life and loved ones.
Because the grass is not greener on the other side, rather, where you water it.
