Happy Friday, guys! This week has been a doozy. Is it just me or did the eclipse throw everyone off on Monday? Everyone was talking about how they were impacted by the eclipse — is that a thing. Anywho, Phil’s car was also in the shop this week, which meant we did a lot of commuting to and from work. It was all fun and games until we were unexpectedly locked in our parking structure for almost two hours on Tuesday night. I was in a full panic attack progressing through all the stages of grief, fear and frustration knowing Mitch was stuck at daycare. Fortunately, my sister saved the day – she grabbed our extra car seat, loaded her two kiddos and rescued Mitch. We arrived to her house with all of the kiddos eating dinner and having the time of their lives. I am traumatized and Mitch thought it was Christmas in August. Oy. Thank god for amazing people!!
The kick-off through me for a loop and I ended up napping after work on Wednesday. I was spent.
Then, Thursday came and I felt like a new woman waking up to the brisk breeze coming in through the bedroom window. I love sleeping with the windows open and feeling the cool air when the season changes to fall. I quickly pulled out my slippers and cozy shawl – I love summer but live for the Fall.
Needless to say, I’m ready for the weekend! Our friends are coming over tonight for a BBQ and then we’re laying low and working on Mitch’s new bedroom the rest of the time. My goals are; workout, go on a family bike ride, mail birthday invitations and finish my book. The month of September is booked solid, so we’re soaking in these last sweet days of summer.
I’m also debating one last summer fling…(says the preggo lady).
Thanks so much for reading – and a huge thank you to everyone who sent me love on my update. You guys are the nicest!
What are you up to this weekend?
Are you enjoying the last days of summer or itching for fall to arrive?
