Ok, that’s quite the title. But outside of going with the usual ‘Weekend Recap’ title, this felt better for a Monday.
I’m zapped from the weekend and the little one giving me some aches on Sunday. Although, I’m not expecting relief or rest anytime soon.
Friday started with my bi-weekly doctor appointment- I can hardly believe I’m making a visit every other week. And I’m thrilled to share that baby has flipped and is no longer breach! With a clean bill of health and flu shot, I was on cloud nine.
The rest of the day passed by in usual fashion and ended with some party prep for Mitch’s upcoming party.
Saturday was filled from the moment we awoke. Phil and Mitch headed out to get haircuts while I snuck in a quick workout.
Not long after I was off for the day to prep for my best friend’s birthday party. First, a stop at the local market for dinner. Once the food was home and prepped, I was off for a much needed hair appointment.
I adore my stylist and spent an hour and a half chatting away, shopping on Amazon (hello nesting) and enjoying a scalp massage. What is it about a head rub that feels so good?
Fresh and ready for fall!
Lunch was the next priority, so I swung into Seven Greens for a salad and hit the road for a few things at the mall.
Time slipped away from me and I made a mad dash home to say hi to the guys, grab the food and head out to set up for the party.
A few weeks ago I reached out to my girlfriends to plan a birthday party for Katie. She asked for dinner at her house vs. a restaurant or night out, and we were all on board. We planned our menu to be appetizers and I provided the main dish. By 7pm the party was in full swing.
The weather was perfect, so we enjoyed the evening outside sipping wine (passion tea for me) and snacking before digging into dinner. Then it was time for cake – cupcakes!
Our girlfriend Kate went all out with the paper goods and brought unicorn decor including party hats and a piñata! It was hilarious to watch 30 year-olds swing away at the butterfly to see what goodies were inside. A crazy Saturday night!
We had a total blast celebrating and being together. Before long midnight was creeping on. I headed home and was out like a light.
Sunday was a mix of resting and house projects in the morning. We dug into homemade egg sandwiches before moving into Mitch’s room for a few finishing decor touches.
Mitch and I got to work on meal prep before he dug into homemade macaroni and cheese and headed to nap time.
I decided to sneak in a workout (I’m obsessed with Peloton rides) and left 45 minutes later a sweaty mess.
When I arrived home, I found Mitch up – the nap didn’t happen. We pushed through and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. 80 degrees is a little warm for this momma in mid- September, but I’m not complaining.
Mitch seemed to have all of the energy in the world and spent two hours playing baseball, climbing trees, swinging and kicking the soccer ball. He would dribble the ball and then give it a good kick into the bush and yell, “winner!”
To his dismay, we packed away the toys and settled into the front porch for dinner.
Within minutes of finishing our nightly bedtime routine, Mitch was out cold. I think skipping the nap sounded like a good idea but was a bit too much for him to handle.
Phil and I wrapped the night by hanging a few pieces on the wall in our front room and watching 10 minutes of the Emmys before calling it a night.
It was a busy weekend with not much downtime, but I’m looking forward to the coming week for a few fun projects and another birthday weekend ahead!
