Good morning, friends.
It is a wet and grey day here in Michigan. One can only hope that April showers do in fact bring May flowers. Not that I mind, it just takes away the option for walks with Mitchell. But we will survive.
Yesterday, Mitchell and I had an early morning appointment for his six month wellness check-up. He did so well – even going so far as to flirt with the doctor. That kid. Oye.
We had a low-key afternoon and then I got ready for a Tuesday night date night. Phil’s company had one of the four suites at Joe Louis arena for the Red Wings game last night. My sister was kind enough to watch Mitch – and yes, she knew full well that he had his shots and she still signed up. She’s either the best person in the world or delusional. (<—obviously the former).
After a quick drive downtown we arrived at the arena and quickly made our way to the suite with just enough time to meet his coworkers before face off. The Red Wings are a BIG deal here in Michigan and taking in one of the biggest games of the season from the elite suite was pretty amazing.
But even more amazing was having a night out with Phil. I have been fortunate enough to have a few girls nights since Mitch was born, but Phil and I have only gone out twice. Both times Mitch was pretty young (around 2 months old) so my anxiety was high when I left him and I wasn’t able to relax and enjoy the night. And although Mitch had his shots, he loves my sister and I knew he was in good hands. So I did my best to relax, enjoy a glass of wine and cheer next to my favorite guy.
It was a pretty darn good Tuesday night!
This morning I got in my workout (HIIT run on the treadmill) and now I am catching up with you lovies. Oh, and don’t forget today is the last day to enter to win the delicious giveaway from KIND!
Do you go out on weeknights?
