I hope you all had a great weekend and are feeling refreshed. Last weekend was all about go-go-go and this weekend was about relaxation.
Mitch and I came home from Chicago on Monday evening, but Phil stayed for work through the rest of the week. To say it was a long hard week solo parenting would be an understatement. Because that would be the week Mitch got sick and work was crazy. We all celebrated when Phil came home on Friday night – it’s good to be together again!
Here are some other highlights from the weekend:
TRADER JOE’S OPENING
Friday marked the opening of Trader Joe’s 1.5 miles from my house! I mean, what could be better? The store actually just relocated from down the road. I attended their grand opening on Friday morning and immediately joined the party. TJ’s had food, drinks, and entertainment throughout the whole store. Celebrate good times, indeed!
Mitch’s TV attention span is short lived, which we love. But after a week of restless sleep, he was more than ready for snuggle time over the weekend.
We all snuggled under a blanket while Mitch chomped on Cheerios and we dug into Chicago treats. No better way to spend the night.
Workouts have been going so well lately. My motivation is back and I’m keeping it going! Saturday was a crazy workout that left me guessing as we shifted stations between cardio and weights every seven minutes. The time flew by.
Sunday was low key but included some outside activity. Once Mitch was up from his nap, we were going a bit stir crazy and knew it was time to get out and stretch. The temperature dropped some, but we were all excited for the fresh air and movement.
ICED LAVENDER ALMOND MILK LATTE
If you follow me on my social channels, you saw my amazing pick-me-up. Atomic coffee makes their own simple syrup and infuses then with flavor such as vanilla. The latter is subtly sweet and heavenly.
I never sleep as well when Phil is gone and with a sick kiddo, we were all in need of extra zzz’s. After an early bedtime Friday night, I was blown away to see 7 am on the clock Saturday morning. My child never sleeps past 6/6:30 am (which is 5 am Chicago time – oy!). I enjoyed a few minutes of P&Q sipping on coffee and reading a magazine. <– mini vacation.
Mitch proceeded to take a three-hour nap both days. He’s definitely on the mend!
My boys are donut lovers! I brought home a few during my morning errands on Sunday. When their eyes hit the box they both cheered and Mitch let out a “ooooh!” It’s good to know your audience 😉
And those were a few of the highs from the weekend!
